Outside the Lines
PAINTING OUTSIDE THE LINES
An interactive workshop for flexing your creative muscles
Here’s What You’ll Explore
“Full permission on steroids!’” That’s one way to describe Painting Outside the Lines. Other adjectives? How about wacky, wild, hilarious, raucous, playful and off-the-wall? In the words of the
“Guru of Giggling, “ Dr. Madan Kataria, “When you are playful, you are activating the right side of your brain.” And it’s proven that the brain is designed to function best through curiosity, exploration, and the use of multisensory learning.
Painting Outside the Lines (POtL) is a “benevolent virus” in workshop form, designed to break people out of their habitual way of being and flaccid emotional presence. Being emotionless and unresponsive might be a great poker tactic, but living your life this way sucks… the life right out of you. Compelling, enrolling leadership demands that we reach inside ourselves and pull from our deepest, most magnificent inner being. It means divining new paths, seeing new possibilities and making new connections.
And that all happens in the right hemisphere of the brain – the home of creativity and visioning. Painting Outside the Lines is the jumper cable that’ll turbo-boost you right up to the red zone of creativity…and beyond!

Here’s How We’ll Do It
Albert Einstein said, “Games are the most elevated form of investigation.’” We think so too. That’s why we’ve designed an interactive, experiential workshop like no other. POtL includes team problem-solving exercises, tactile learning projects, and group debriefs that in the end create a head-shaking, guffaw-inducing, play-welcoming array of brain-injections ranging from freestyle painting on ginormous canvasses and improvisational games, to an audience participation game show that is too brilliant to be ‘ready for prime time.’ Need we say more?
POtL games are silly enough that they create a safe space for participants to open up to the genius of play, while also providing unique experiences and new perspectives on what it means to live a full-on Technicolor life. Underpinning it all is our unswerving belief (well, actually, Southwest Airlines said it first) that ‘people rarely succeed at anything unless they are having fun doing it.’ So, expect to play, improvise, paint, talk, laugh, and be profoundly moved.
Here’s Your Take-Away
You’ll get to unwrap the gift of your creativity with joyful abandon (like a kid on Christmas morning). You’ll experience what it means to give your creativity “full permission,” and you’ll be clear about how it’ll practically and profoundly enhance your leadership journey. You’ll walk away inspired to step into your own unique style of creative solutions, which can positively impact all aspects of life. Oh, and one more thing – you’ll have a laugh-riot while you’re at it.
